Seaport’s Next Sea Chantey Sing is Friday, April 11th Spanaway Bay, aka Carol & Kent Mesford will be on board as song leaders to keep the music flowing and fun. Spanaway Bay is known for great voices and songs ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous. Chanteys are work songs and foc’s’le ditties with great choruses that join our present day maritime traditions and lore with those of the past. Come and lead a song of the sea or just join in on the chorus. Chanteys and sea songs are easy to learn and fun to sing! The
Chantey Sing starts at 8 pm and goes to after 10 pm. Meet at the
Wood Shop at South Lake Union Park, 860 Terry Street N, Seattle, 98109.
Refreshments will be available. Admission is Free but donations are

Northwest Seaport’s April Maritime Concert Features Halibut Stew and Bold Horizon! Saturday, April 19th, 8 pm at the Center for Wooden Boats! Northwest Seaport’s Maritime Concert Series will resume Saturday, April 19th with the Bold Horizon and Halibut Stew. Bold Horizon features eclectic, slightly irreverent nautical and old timey music; sea chanteys, ballads, British, Irish, American tunes, with three of the Northwest's best: Dan Roberts, Steve Akerman, Tom Rawson. For more information: http://boldhorizonband.com/ Halibut Stew is Allan Hirsch and Stan James, two veterans of the local folk scene whose repertoire includes Ivar Haglund’s humorous songs about sea life, tunes about life in the Northwest, and songs from their experiences from around the planet. Admission: $15 General, $10 Seniors, Youths and Members of Northwest Seaport and the Center for Wooden Boats. All concerts go from 8:00 until after 10:00 PM. Dan is a captain of sail and motor and is known to carry a great tune and show a bit of the blarney in his tall tales. former Chantey Man
of the Lady Washington who sings his own crafted and catchy nautical
songs as well as traditional maritime songs. Singing a cappella
or accompanied by his concertina, he will entertain with his melodic
voice and his original tunes based upon his won sailing
experience. The
Phinney Ridge Rum Runners
are none
other than Seattle’s own Trapper Graves and Steve Lalor, talented
musicians who sing with and without accompaniment. Steve Lalor is
a hot player of his many guitars (all individually named), and Trapper
Graves has appeared in the best all-women maritime bands that have
appeared in the Northwest. This duo always entertains with
