MEET THE AUTHOR

Northwest Seaport, Fireboat Duwamish and the Virginia V are teaming up to showcase an amazing and wonderful book:  Working Boats: An Inside Look at Ten Amazing Watercraft, by Tom Crestodina.  This carefully detailed oversized book is filled with full-spread cross sections and exploded views of ten working boats, one of which (Fireboat Duwamish) is moored right here at the Historic Ships Wharf in Lake Union Park!

Join us aboard the Virginia V
Tuesday, December 13th, 2022, 6 - 8 P.M.
To celebrate the publication
Meet the author
have your book signed

and
Celebrate with other lovers of history, old boats and all things maritime!
And take a tour of the Fireboat Duwamish--one of the ten boats featured in this book!

Enjoy free hors d'oeuvres and cider, along with a No Host Bar

This is a perfect gift for those curious about the mechanics of boats and the lives of those who work(ed) on them. It highlights of each boat’s unique engineering components and what goes on behind the scenes. The book includes illustrated details about each boat’s mission, jobs, and a glimpse of what life is like overall on a working boat.

Tom Crestodina now lives in Bellingham. He was a fisherman in Alaska for over 20 years and studied marine engineering at the Seattle Maritime Academy. He began making cutaway drawings of the vessels he was working on as a way to communicate with his small child while he was a sea.
