Stories of the Sea

May 15th, 2025

NORTHWEST SEAPORT ANNOUNCES
“STORIES OF THE SEA 2025”

An evening of wonderful, wild, silly, serious and heart-felt stories told by real people who’ve been involved with the fishing industry and maritime world.

Thursday, May 15, 2025
7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Bad Alberts Tap & Grill in Ballard
And, yes! There will be prizes!

Enter to win by telling your tale, or just swing by to enjoy these real life...pretty much true...or totally tall tale yarns, told by those who had the experience of being at work at sea under all sorts of captains and in all kinds of weather.  Some will leave you rolling on the ground laughing and some will make you use every napkin in the house to dry your tears, but it is a wonderful evening of entertainment, learning, comradery and joy. (Something we all need these days.)

The evening will be hosted by Captain Dano Quinn, well-known raconteur, Chanteyman, and five time past winner of this contest! Contestants will be judged on originality, creativity, presentation, imagery and nautical relevance by a local panel of judges. Prizes are $300, $200 and $100, plus a random prize to be named and awarded for whatever the judges (with audience input) decide is just too good not to make the cut.

To watch, come to Bad Alberts Tap & Grill, 5100 Ballard Avenue, on Thursday, May 15th, 7:00 - 9:00PM.
